A KAYAKER was rescued after being blown ashore in high winds.
Weymouth RNLI inshore lifeboat was launched at around 3.25pm today to assist the kayaker, who was around 200 yards off Bowleaze Cove.
On arrival, crewmen found the casualty had been blown ashore and was on rocks to the east of Bowleaze.
Due the danger of rocks just below the surface, the lifeboat was unable to land near the stranded kayaker.
The decision was made to move approximately 100 metres along the coast where it was just possible to get the lifeboat to the beach.
A crewman with a first aid kit landed ashore and made his way over the shoreline to the causality.
The kayaker had fallen off the kayak due to breathing problems, was unable to get back on board and was blown ashore.
He was taken to Weymouth by the RNLI.
