A weather warning for strong winds has been issued by the Met Office today.
The yellow 'be aware' alert is in force for Bournemouth, Dorset and Poole, with gusts of 50-60mph predicted along with heavy rain.
The warning is valid until 3pm today and says: "A narrow band of heavy rain will be accompanied by squally winds as it moves east across southern and southeastern parts of England over the next few hours.
"Gusts of 50-60 mph are possible in places. The public are advised to take extra care due to the localised squally winds and heavy rain."
A spokesperson for the Met Office said: "An active cold front will move quickly east across England today, bringing a short spell of heavy rain and squally winds to more southern and southeastern parts of England."
