TWO hairdressing students have taken on tough competition to earn places in the finals of a national competition.

Shannon Marie and Chloe Fishwick are both students at Weymouth College studying hairdressing.

They entered Wella Xposure, a nationwide competition now in its sixth year, through the college in early 2016.

With one other student from Weymouth, they were selected for the regional finals held in Bristol last month where they were pitted against 13 other students for only four spots in the next stage.

Shannon and Chloe emerged with places in the finals in London on Wednesday, June 8 where they will once again test their scissors.

Shannon said: “It’s weird. It hasn’t really sunk in.

“ I only really thought that I would get to the regionals let alone the finals.

Chloe said: “I am extremely proud of what I have achieved by getting this far in the competition. I am really excited and grateful for this opportunity.”
