It has been an eventful few weeks for former Prime Minister David Cameron but he has now been spotted enjoying a morning in Weymouth.

A reader got in touch with the Echo this morning reporting that they had spotted the Conservative MP in the Barclays bank on St Mary Street.

The reader said that he was wearing shorts and a dark blue shirt and appeared to be here on holiday, rather than official business.

They added that he then started walking along the Esplanade.

Mr Cameron is said to have been with friends as he enjoyed a morning in the town.

Staff at Coffee#1 confirmed that he and some companions enjoyed a drink there.

They said that he ordered a double macchiato with his friends ordering some skinny lattés.

One added that he asked Mr Cameron if he was here to see Harry Styles.

They said he was very friendly and humble.

As well as enjoying a walk along the Esplanade and a coffee, Mr Cameron and his friends headed to Weyfish, on the harbour for some seafood.

Tim Withers, from Weyfish, said that he came in with some friends and bought some lobster.

He said: "We didn't really notice until he left and then we were like that was David Cameron.

"He didn't really speak."

Mr Cameron together with wife Samantha and body guards have been spotted along the Esplanade as well.
