WEYMOUTH'S star-studded week has continued today with a sighting of Peaky Blinders actor Cillian Murphy on the Esplanade.

Murphy is in town along with One Direction star Harry Styles and Oscar winner Mark Rylance for the filming of Christopher Nolan's Second World War blockbuster Dunkirk.

Weymouth resident Adam Howell spotted the actor out and about.

He said: "Me and my fiancee Jess passed him outside Londis and I did a double take.

"I realised it was Cillian so turned back to catch up with him.

"I asked for a photo but he mouthed sorry and gestured towards his phone, so I took this pic instead.

"I am a fan of Peaky Blinders, so it was cool to see him."

Murphy is best known to audiences for Peaky Blinders, but he has also taken on leading roles in 28 Days Later and Sunshine.

He worked with Dunkirk director Nolan when he took on the role of the Scarecrow in the Batman trilogy.
