A MAN has been banned from begging in a supermarket alleyway.
Justin Gerrard, of Wessex Road Dorchester, had a Criminal Behaviour Order amended to prevent him causing further acts of anti-social behaviour in Bridport.
Gerrard was previously awarded a CBO in January 2015 for begging and theft, the first to be handed out in Dorset.
Yesterday, Weymouth Magistrates Court agreed to amend the order following an application by PC Scott McGregor of Bridport Neighbourhood Policing Team.
He is now prohibited from begging and entering Waitrose in Bridport, the alleyway and the land immediately adjacent around it.
PC McGregor said: ''Don't perpetuate the problem of begging, if you wish to help and support people who are in need of shelter & food, I would recommend that you donate to dedicated local & national charities who offer support for those in genuine need."
