A CHOIR which meets every Thursday afternoon in Weymouth is looking for new members.

People who enjoy singing are being sought for Harmonics Choir.

The group was established last summer and has performed several times at charitable events.

The singers meet at Weymouth Community Fire Station from 2pm to 4pm every Thursday.

Choir member Su Lewis said: "Now we’ve restarted for the Autumn term, we’re actively looking for new members, both men and women, to come and join us, and we plan to perform at more events around Christmas time.

"There are no auditions and no need to sing on your own. This singing group is open to anyone who likes to sing, with no previous experience and no need for participants to read music, as all songs will be taught by ear in a very relaxed informal atmosphere.

"We learn songs from this country and from around the world. You’ll find yourself very quickly losing any self-consciousness and singing with others in glorious unaccompanied harmony … and there’s a great social element to each session, with a break in the middle for tea, laughter and chat!"

People are invited to enjoy a ‘taster’ session for free. Just turn on a Thursday at 2pm at Weymouth Community Fire Station, Radipole Lane.
