IF YOU are smelling delicious aromas in the town today it could be coming from the FEAST pop-up kitchen on New Bond Street.

The pop-up kitchen marks the launch of FEAST 2016, a celebration of local food and drink, and will showcase some of what will be on offer throughout the eight-week event.

Participating chefs and local foodie experts will be demonstrating dishes from their menus as well as talking about their particular specialties.

Michelle Hind from No.4 was on of the first on stage, demonstrating the variety of seafood available at her restaurant.

The Stable’s own Flagon Wagon is also on site offering samples of some of their most popular cider.

Abigail Perry, marketing manager at The Stable said said it was "really exciting" to be part of FEAST Weymouth this year.

Sophie Kermani from In the Bag PR said: "FEAST officially starts on Monday for eight weeks. Many of the venue themselves were keen to extend it as they felt it helps their business through difficult months when it is much quieter in the town.

"Last year there were comments that businesses had had the best October in 20 years. So this year we've gone bigger with more variety and more businesses. The BID have also had a lot more input in it with teams focused on FEAST, which has been brilliant."

As well as chef demonstrations and lots of free samples, an incredible cooking class from Les Enfants Terribles is up for grabs.

The cooking gift experience is for two people to share, under the careful guidance of chef Eric. The winner can expect a tailor made class to any range of ability.

During his nearly 30 years of experience, Eric has been head chef in French, European and Asian kitchens, in restaurants and hotels.

Eric Tavernier chef/owner of Les Enfants Terribles said: “Moving to Weymouth and opening up Les Enfants Terribles has been such experience so far and I am very excited to see how FEAST Weymouth works as I have heard such good things from the locals about the event.”

Other demonstrations this morning included Luciano Da Silva from The Nothe Tavern and Tim Gibb from The Stable.

This afternoon will see Roger from Rogers Coffee Shop at 1.10pm, Andy Cooke from Ayya at 1.40pm and chef Eric from Les Enfants Terribles at 2.30pm.

The FEAST Weymouth promotion works with each participating venue providing a set-menu or offer within the price ranges of £5, £10, £15, £20 or £25 for customers to dine at the establishment throughout the month of October and until November 30.
