Kittens abandoned at a commercial premises are searching for a new home.

The three kittens, then aged just three weeks, would have died if they hadn't come into the care of an animal rescue charity.

A male and two female kittens, Morgan, Beth and Anna were rescued from a commercial premises in Dorchester.

When initially found the kittens were monitored all day by staff waiting for the return of the mother cat, but the kittens had been completely abandoned.

They were taken into the care of Feral Cat Care in Portesham and needed bottle feeding.

A spokesman for the charity said: "The kittens would have undoubtedly died if they had not come into our care. It is unknown why the mother cat did not return to her kittens.

"She may have had an accident or had been frightened, but it is very unusual for kittens to be left for that amount of time."

Morgan, Beth and Ann have been worm and flea treated and will be ready for homes in three weeks' time.

Anyone who is interesting in homing them should call 01305 871656.
