A tractor and bailer caught fire in the Dorset countryside.
The blaze started just after 6pm yesterday when a tractor caught fire in Elworth, Portesham.
Smoke from the fire could be seen for miles.
Two fire engines from Weymouth and one from Dorchester attended along with an officer.
Firefighters arrived to find the tractor 'well alight' and the blaze spreading to the attached bailer.
The fire was extinguished by crew wearing breathing apparatus and using hose reel jets.
The stop message - meaning the incident is under control and no further resources are required - came in at 7.09pm; but crews remained on the scene until 8pm dampening down hotspots.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue said: "We received a call at 6.13pm yesterday evening about a large vehicle fire in Elworth, Portesham. Crews from Weymouth and Dorchester attended the incident which involved a tractor, well alight, and spreading to the attached bailer.
"Breathing apparatus wearers used hose reel jets to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading to the field."
