A rural touring arts charity in Dorset is supporting an emerging youth company from the Southwest as they tour their popular dance show this January.

Based in Somerset and led by Artistic Director James Bamford, previously an artist with the English National Ballet Youth Company, The Project Dance Company aims to create innovative professional and youth dance works for both stage and screen.

This January, they will be bringing one of their shows to Dorset.

Described as an “intimate dance experience”, Fragments tells the story of a young couple as they navigate through the vulnerability, anxiety, and helplessness of falling in love.

The show has been brought back by popular demand and will be performed at the Buckland Newton and Drimpton village halls on January 19 and 20 respectively.

Artsreach is a registered charity that aims to make a positive difference to the lives of people living in rural Dorset through creative and cultural experiences.

Kerry Bartlett, Artsreach Director, said: “We are thrilled to be welcoming this exciting young company back into our rural communities this spring. Fragments is such an intense and emotive piece which had me hanging on every movement when I first saw it performed.

“Whether you adore dance in all its forms or have never watched a dance theatre performance in your life, I’d urge you to see this powerful show.”
