Police have increased patrols in Bovington following reports of anti-social behaviour.

The Wareham Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) conducted a patrol in the village on Friday, January 12. This comes after reports of anti-social behaviour in the area over the past two weeks.

The NPT spoke to shops and groups of young people.

Bovington has now been added to a list of 'hot spot' areas for increased police patrols.

A spokesperson for the Purbeck Police said: "The Wareham NPT have been on patrol this afternoon and evening (Friday, January 12) in relation to anti-social behaviour being reported in the Bovington area over the past couple of weeks.

"We popped into local shops to offer reassurance and check if there had been any further issues.

"Whilst in the area we engaged with several groups of young people who all seemed happy and in good spirits.

"Bovington will now be included as one of our current hot spot patrol areas."
