AFGHAN nationals being housed at an army camp in Chickerell are in need of donations of health and hygiene products.

As previously reported, Chickerell Camp is being used to temporarily house families of Afghan nationals who worked with or for the British Armed Forces and other Government departments throughout operations in Afghanistan.

This resettlement is part of the MoD’s ARAP Scheme – Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy.

After the first families arrived, it was reported that many of them arrived with very few possessions to their name.

Their flights from Pakistan, where many of them had been living, did not allow them to bring many items, and most had few to start with.

After a call went out for donations, six vans worth of clothes and toys for children were delivered to 'grateful' residents of the camp.

Now, Chickerell Town Council has called for health and hygiene products to be donated to help the families living in Chickerell.

Products such as sanitary goods, nappies, shampoo, soap, and shower gel can be dropped off at Chickerell Town Council’s Offices, Willowbed Hall, 39 Putton Lane, Chickerell, DT3 4PB during the hours of 9.30 am and noon.

Donations can also be dropped off at The Veterans Hub between 10am and 2pm from Monday to Saturday.
