A contemporary circus artist will be touring to Dorset this March to perform a theatrical trampoline show.

Dorset’s touring arts charity, Artsreach, will welcome circus artist Max Calaf Sevé to Gillingham next month as part of Circus Around and About 2.

Funded by an Arts Council England Lottery Project Grant, the project works to bring contemporary circus shows and workshops to communities across the south-west.

Max’s show Anyday is both a trampoline show and a physical theatre piece, telling the story of a man and his pet bird who embark on an adventure together.

The contemporary circus artist specialises in trampoline acrobatics, object manipulation and physical theatre.  He trained at Rigelio Rivel Circus School, La Central del Circ Barcelona and the National Centre for Circus Arts in London.

The show will also feature a soundtrack by Matt Huxley, from Bridport, who writes music for theatre, circus, and film. His work has been heard on stage at London’s Young Vic, Roundhouse, Lyric Hammersmith, and Oxford Playhouse.

Max Calaf Sevé will perform his show at Gillingham School on Thursday, March 21 at 7pm.
