BEING born and bred in Dorset, I was interested in the UK Government’s two-page advertisement (Echo 4 March) telling me that ‘Levelling Up is happening here in the South West’.
Mmm.... So Liskeard’s library has been revamped and a new innovation centre is being established in Appledore.
I see also that there’s mention of the Plymouth and South Devon Freeport while South Devon College students are benefiting from over £660,000 from the Government’s Local Skills Improvement Fund.
But, hey, this seems to be all about our neighbouring county of Devon; does anyone know exactly how much of the South West’s £1.1 billion is actually being spent here in Dorset?
