A travel agents in Weymouth has been shortlisted for a top community hero award.

Hays Travel has been named as  a finalist at the TTG Top 50 Awards, organised by industry-leading publisher, Travel Trade Gazette.

Earlier this year it was announced that the Weymouth team had been shortlisted as one of the five top travel agents in the South West at the same event.

Scooping a place on the TTG Top 50 list would mean a hattrick for the team on St Mary Street after being included in both 2019 and 2021.

The annual awards aim to recognise and reward the exceptional customer service and expertise that travel retailers offer to their customers.

The Weymouth travel agency is now shortlisted for the Top Travel Agent in the South West category and community heroes nationwide.

The Community Hero award is one of the special categories at the event, awarded to an individual or team who have worked hard to give back to others.

Branch manager, Hayley Gadd,  was also crowned Manager of the Year at the Travel Industry Awards 2023, and was presented her award by former Big Brother presenter Davina McCall at Magazine London.

She said: “We are super proud to have been recognised in the Community Hero category at this year’s TTG Top 50 awards. It really does showcase how important our local community is to us and how we prioritise mental health and wellbeing in the workplace.

“Raising funds and supporting local community projects is very close to our hearts at Hays Travel Weymouth and it is fantastic to have received yet another nomination at this year’s awards! We are very much looking forward to attending the award ceremony at the end of April to celebrate all of our achievements.

TTG editorial director Pippa Jacks added: “We strive to improve and enhance our Top 50 Travel Agencies programme every year, but 2024 will represent the biggest changes in Top 50’s history, with a move to an exciting new venue and a new club offering a range of perks to our incredible winners.”

The winners will be announced at a glitzy awards ceremony held at Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse on Thursday April 25.
