IRISH actress Sharon Horgan has been seen in Weymouth as filming started.

It is understood that the filming is for the second series of comedy/drama Bad Sisters for Apple TV, although this has not been confirmed.

The series is written by, and stars Sharon Horgan alongside co-stars Anne-Marie Duff and Eva Birthistle.

The series follows the lives of the Garvey sisters, who are bound together by the premature death of their parents and a promise always to protect one another. 

The first series received critical acclaim including an Emmy nomination for Sharon Horgan as outstanding lead actress and a BAFTA win for Anne-Marie Duff for best supporting actress.

Hope Road on the Harbour has been closed to the public whilst filming takes place for the next six days.

It is understood that filming will be at sea for most of the day.

The crews are also due to film at Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy on Portland this week.

Crews were seen setting up trailers in the car park on Monday ahead of filming taking place later this week.

Drivers and permit holders have been advised to park at the Nothe car park whilst filming takes place for six days.
