A ROAD in Dorchester has been partially closed after high winds caused telephone cables to be left dangling over the road.
Firefighters from Dorset were called to Slyer's Lane due to downed cables caused by high winds in the area.
Part of the road was partially blocked where the cables were left dangling over the road.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue said: "We were called to the road between Slyers Lane and the Stinsford roundabout at 3.18pm today after reports that cables had come down.
"A crew from Dorchester attended and found it was a telephone line that was affected, so moved this to the side of the road so one lane could remain open.
"The scene was left with the police at 4pm, who were awaiting a BT engineer."
