A diver was rescued after an engine failure.
A dive boat (rib) suffered an engine failure just east of the Grove, Portland at around 3.15pm on Sunday.
At the time, the diver was still in the water and the driver of the boat called the coastguard for assistance.
The diver was recovered from the sea and the boat was taken to Castletown by the Inshore Lifeboat (ILB).
A spokesperson for Weymouth Lifeboat said: “The volunteer crew launched Sunday afternoon following a request from the coastguard to assist a dive boat which had suffered an engine failure east of the Grove, off Portland.
“With a diver still in water and the boat rendered immobile the skipper of the dive vessel requested assistance. The diver was recovered, and the casualty vessel escorted to Castletown by the inshore lifeboat.
“The ILB returned to station and was washed down and made ready for service.”
