MOTORISTS travelling through Dorchester are being encouraged to allow extra time for their journey while emergency work takes place.
Engineers from Wessex Water will be fixing a water leak on Weymouth Avenue, near the junction of Maumbury Road, from tomorrow (September 22) until Friday (September 23).
The existing traffic lights will be switched off and temporary lights will be in place while the leak is fixed close to the railway line.
A Wessex Water spokesman said: “Motorists are likely to face a slightly longer than normal wait at the traffic lights while we carry out the emergency repairs.
“We apologise for any inconvenience the work may cause and urge motorists who use this route to allow extra time for their journey.”
