A car was destroyed in a blaze in a layby.

The incident happened just before 7.30pm this evening when firefighters from Dorchester were called to the scene.

A spokesman for the fire and rescue service said one fire engine attended and two hose reel jets were used to put out the fire.

He added: "The private vehicle was 100 per cent destroyed by fire."

The incident happened on the A35 eastbound in a layby near Dorchester.
