KING of boogie woogie Ben Waters is tuning up for an intimate gig in Evershot tonight (1).

The pianist, who hails from Weymouth, is more used to touring the globe but is looking to jazzing up Evershot Village Hall with his son Tom.

The father-and-son duo will be joined by others on the stage for the gig - one of Ben's few UK performances.

Recently Ben was nominated by his friend Jools Holland for Best Boogie Woogie Pianist at the prestigious Boisdale Jazz Awards.

Ben has set up a specialist travel company called www.rocknrollholidays.com which is proving very popular.

Recently, with 20 people in tow, he travelled to Argentina and Uruguay for a series of gigs and to see his old friends the Rolling Stones!

He was asked to do the last ever gig in the legendary Ealing Blues Club before it is demolished.

Ben said: "It was a real honour to be asked to do the final gig as this was the club where the Rolling Stones and many others started all those years ago."

With one day off Ben then headed to Venice to plan the next big adventure for Rock ‘n Roll Holidays. He played at the Lions Club in Stuttgart with Kiki Dee.

Ben and the band drove to Kiki's house, picked up the equipment, sailed to France and then drove down through France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. Kiki was wonderful and the show was one of the best there.

The band then drove home. Ben met up with his family and then flew, to London, Singapore, Sydney and on to Christchurch.

Ben and his son Tom toured New Zealand for three weeks before having to dash back to play at a society wedding for Tamara Drax with HRH Prince Harry, HRH Princess Eugenie and HRH Princess Beatrice in attendance.

A couple of days after this he rounded up 50 people and flew to Atlanta and then on to the home of Rock ‘n Roll, Memphis where the best time ever was had on Beale Street, having some of the greatest music in the world. Following this was a road trip to Nashville to see the legendary Eskimo Brothers.

With just a couple of days off Ben then travelled to the enchanting French Chateau hired by Rock ‘n Roll Holidays where Ben and the band took 60 people there for an unforgettable weekend followed by a trip to the Chicago Blues Festival back and then to the Henley Festival with his 16 piece band featuring very special guest Mick Taylor.

The Evershot gig begins at 8pm tonight. Buy tickets on the door or from wegottickets.com - search for Ben Waters in the artists' section.
