PORTLAND swimmer Jay Lelliott has won his first major international medal, claiming a bronze at the European Championships in Germany.
The youngster finished third in the final of the men's 400m freestyle earlier.
Velimir Stepjanovic of Serbia won gold, Italy's Andrea Mitchell D'Arrigo took silver with Lelliott next in a time of 3mins 47.50secs.
The teenager had made it through to the final after finishing sixth in his heat this morning.
His time of 3mins 49.82secs was only the seventh fastest overall.
British team-mate Stephen Milne qualified the quickest in 3:48.62, though world record holder Paul Biedermann missed out on the final.
