Wellworthy claimed the SD Baker Cup with an emphatic win across all three rinks against Melcombe Regis.

The Wellworthy rink of Alan Goodwin, Brian Mills, Colin Slade and skip Maurice Haylock won 26-19 after a dramatic turnaround.

The quartet were five shots behind after five ends but pulled the score back to 11-9 by the 10th.

And by the 15th end, the Wellworthy men were 19-16 up and kept their lead, picking up six more shots to claim the victory.

The rink of Keith Tilyard, Joe Kelly, Terry Vincent and skip Dave Hanger fought out a close game but managed to win 20-18 having narrowly led all the way.

And the final four of Alan Jones, Tony Sargent, Roy Burnett and skip Joe Wahnon stormed ahead at 10 ends to put themselves well in control at 15-6 and never looked back, as they secured a 35-10 victory.
