SWANAGE & WAREHAM 90 SUPERMARINE 3

CHARLIES Rowberry and Parish scored two-thirds of the Swans’ 90 points between them in their side’s 14-try demolition of Supermarine in Southern Counties South.

The Swindon team’s first visit to the Memorial Ground in Wareham was one they certainly won’t forget – but for all the wrong reasons.

Fijian winger Veresa Valehei put the Swans ahead with a try after only two minutes, with Parish landing the first of his 10 conversions.

Three minutes later centre David Elford scored under the posts and Parish converted.

Supermarine came back at the Swans and centre Simon Mawer gave the visitors their three points with a penalty.

However, Parish then scored out wide before Rowberry went in for the first of his six tries to make it 24-3.

Swans’ forwards won most of the ball up front and second row Dan Collins crossed the whitewash close to the posts.

Just before the interval, a break by full-back Callum Baird put Parish clear to touch down, giving the hosts a 38-3 lead at the break.

The home side made some changes at the interval, but the scoring continued as Rowberry crossed again on 42 minutes.

Valehei ran rings around the opposition for his second try and Rowberry completed his hat-trick in the 51st minute – not long after he added his fourth for a 66-3 advantage.

From a scrum on the visitors’ five-metre line, flanker Matt Roberts went over and then number eight Joe Desmond powered down the wing to score a fine individual try.

Rowberry rounded the defence for his fifth score and there was still time for him to register a rare double hat-trick.
