ON-LOAN striker Mark Ford still has the desire to be a hit with the Terras, after bagging his first goal for Frome Town at the weekend.

Coming on as a half-time substitute for the Robins, Ford struck five minutes after being introduced to seal a point for his temporary side at Hungerford.

But the former Blandford United man insists he still has the ambition to re-enter the first team fold at the Bob Lucas Stadium, and is determined to make manager Jason Matthews stand up and take notice.

“It was good to get a goal and show what I’m about still,” he told Echosport.

“I am enjoying it there but it’s not where I want to be, I love Weymouth and I want to be a Weymouth player.

“It’s nice to show Jase that I am scoring and give him a headache when I come back if the lads aren’t performing, but I can’t take anything away from them at the moment.

“For me it is always nice to play at this standard and to show people that I can still score goals at this level is what I want to do.”

Ford penned an initial one-month loan at the Aldersmith Stadium at the start of this month, and with the deal set to expire soon, he is keeping his options open about the loan being extended.

He added: “I think we are going to talk about it for another month. I have to see with everything going on myself, I will have a talk with Jase and go from there really.

“I know that Jase wants me to play but if I’m not playing for him and I can do things like get a point for Frome at Hungerford, who are sixth in the league, it’s a good result for me and the club.”
