WEYMOUTH have announced the signing of Alec Fiddes from Weston-super-Mare on non-contract terms.

The young winger, who worked under Terras’ assistant-manager Craig Laird last season, is set to go straight into tomorrow’s squad to take on Biggleswade Town at the Bob Lucas Stadium, subject to the necessary paperwork being completed in time.

Commenting on his latest recruit, manager Jason Matthews told Echosport: “He gives us a bit of fresh impetus and he will be another valued member of the squad. He is the right age and he has been hunted by England C this year, so you can see the calibre of player we are signing.

“He was with Craig (Laird) last season and Craig speaks highly of him, and we are delighted to have him on board.

“Hopefully if his registration goes through he will play some part in tomorrow’s game.”

The new Terras' man is reported to have had trials with Premier League clubs as a youngster, and has also played in Spain for Lleida Esportiv.
