JASON Matthews vented his frustration at yet another red card brandished to one of his charges this season, as 10-man Weymouth fought hard but fell to a 1-0 defeat at Paulton Rovers.
Match official Lee Sheridan sent striker Tim Sills off just short of the interval at Winterfield Road when he clashed with Clayton Green, much to the disbelief of the Terras’ player-manager.
“I didn’t think it was a red card at all,” he told Echosport.
“Tim was pushed in the back and his hand came back. He caught the lad but there was just no intention in it at all.
“If someone comes through the back of you it’s hard for you to keep your balance and your hands come out by a natural reaction.
“The lad rolled around and has made a bit of a meal of it. It’s very frustrating but I can’t fault my boys, they put in a superb performance.
“It was a physical game and, if anything, we were on the end of some heavy challenges.
“One of their lads has gone in two-footed on Dean Evans and Dean has ended up getting booked for it. That summed up the day for me.”
Speaking about his side’s display, Matthews added: “We threw the kitchen sink at them with 10 men in the second half.
“The lads were at it and, short of scoring, I didn’t think there was too much more that we could do.”
