MAGPIES’ boss Mark Jermyn had no complaints with the awarding of the penalty that ultimately denied his side three points against Corby on Saturday.
Goals from Southampton loanee Mark Irvine, his first for the county town club, and Lewis Morgan saw Dorchester overturn a 1-0 deficit to lead going into injury-time at Steel Park.
But a foul by Jamie Gleeson allowed Greg Mills to convert from the spot and salvage a draw for the hosts, who were knocked off the league summit after Poole’s late win over Cambridge City.
“We asked the boys for a better performance in the second half and they more than did that,” Jermyn said. “We went 2-1 ahead and were working so hard to hold on to what we had.
“Glees tracked back and tried to help out in defence but their lad stepped across him. Glees wasn’t able to stop himself and their lad went down – it was a penalty, there was no disputing it. It was a shame because we had worked really hard and then let it slip.”
Jermyn also confirmed after Saturday’s match that on-loan Bradley Tarbuck would be staying with Dorchester until the end of the season.
“Brad will be staying with us and we are extremelygrateful to Portsmouth for agreeing to that,” added Jermyn. "We think a lot of Brad and we are glad that he is going to be at the club for the rest of the season.”
Meanwhile, the Magpies’ chief revealed that Matt Oldring missed the Corby game due to personal reasons.
