JASON Matthews is looking to use his side’s midweek cup win as a catalyst to propel the Terras back into the play-off spots.

Weymouth host league leaders Corby Town at the Bob Lucas Stadium tomorrow (3pm), knowing the result could have a massive impact on both the race for the title and promotion.

Dean Evans and Tim Sills are set to return to the Terras' squad after serving suspensions, as is defender Jamie Laird, ruled out on Tuesday through illness.

Ashley Wells is rated at 50-50 after picking up an injury against the Magpies.

“Tuesday felt like a real high because I think Dorchester thought they were going to come down and beat us, but I felt we did a professional job,” Matthews told Echosport.

“They have got results against Corby and Poole lately and I feel we can do the same, starting against Corby.

“Corby have a long way to travel and will be desperate to get a result to keep the title race open and obviously we are now going to have a say in the title race.

“Unfortunately it won’t be us that wins the league this season but we want to get in those play-offs."

Matthews’ troops were hammered 5-1 when they visited Steel Park earlier in the campaign, but the Weymouth chief remains confident.

He added: “Corby played very well on the night and we didn’t help our cause.

“But I feel we can match anyone on our day and it’s up to the boys to prove it now. They need to go out there and play with some confidence after Tuesday night.”

Following the clash with the Steelmen, Matthews will be alongside chairman Chris Pugsley to answer questions from supporters at a fans’ forum.
