DESPITE the fact the Terras’ bid for promotion has faltered since the turn of the year, chairman Chris Pugsley was upbeat about how much the club has moved forward this term.

Alongside Jason Matthews and the Terras’ coaching staff, Pugsley sat down to answer questions at a fans’ forum following Weymouth’s 1-0 defeat to Corby Town on Saturday.

Following the forum, the chairman told Echosport: “I am very positive for the future, Jason is very positive for the future, the directors are very positive for the future and we can’t ask much more.

“The play-offs aren’t in our hands any more, the championship was three months ago, everyone’s very upset, but the club has moved forward massively in the last eight or nine months.

“We live within the budget and the CVA is now finished, we are also getting more sponsorship and more confidence within the business community. If anybody thinks the football club is not moving forward they are badly mistaken.”

During the forum, Pugsley was also quizzed by fans on the club’s ongoing search for a new ground location.

“The ground is a situation which is taking much longer than we thought,” he added after the event.

“Everybody is working very hard on it and we are still very optimistic it will happen, but it is taking longer than we thought.

“We just have to keep preparing the ground we have and playing football in the stadium we have and when it happens it happens, we are still pushing for it.

“There is one particular location for sure but any could be considered.”
