STIKA 35 OTC 17

STIKA surged to an impressive 18-point victory over OTC in Division Two of the South & West Dorset League.

OTC had started the stronger of the two in this club clash and moved the ball slickly around the court.

Despite good passing and spacing by OTC they were unable to convert their hard work into goals and Stika’s Laura Veal capitalised on this, winning the rebounds for her team and finding Karen Pomeroy to score.

The third quarter saw OTC make several changes but the vital one seemed to be bringing Bryony White into centre court play.

She controlled the game well while mentoring her team, scoring some key goals.

Despite some injuries in the final quarter, OTC stayed positive and did not give up, however Stika continued to increase their lead.

Team Waikiki 40 GW Electrical 29

KEY movements by both teams made for a strong start and some impressive shooting in a tight opening quarter.

GW’s Rachel Senior was a key player for her team in these early stages, making some great passes into her shooters.

The start of the second quarter saw GW’s Denise Meyers score numerous impressive long shots, despite this, Waikiki’s centre court players made some key interceptions. This, combined with consistent shooting from Jemima Cromm, gave them the edge.

GW showed their ability in the centre court but Lauren Stones capitalised from their mistakes as Waikiki kept the lead.

Kate Sanderson started the fourth quarter really well, finding good space and providing support to her shooters but the Waikiki defensive duo prevented rebounds, which helped them charge to victory.
