AFTER defeats to Hungerford and Hitchin, Dorchester head to Cambridgeshire tomorrow (3pm) hoping to avoid yet more disappointment against a team beginning with an ‘H’.

But while the Magpies have lost their last two league matches, opponents Histon are on a run of one win in eight Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division outings.

And they felt the full force of leaders Poole on Tuesday as Tom Killick’s men put seven past Histon without reply at the Glassworld Stadium in Cambridgeshire.

Tomorrow’s hosts will no doubt want to right the wrongs of their midweek thrashing, although Dorchester are also eager to get back to winning ways.

When asked if that big loss for Histon would work in favour of his side, Magpies’ assistant-manager Nick Crittenden said: “It gives us hope that they are vulnerable, but I’m sure they will address those issues and be hard to break down.

“We’ve lost three on the bounce in league and cup so it’s important for us to get something up there.

“After all the hard work we’ve put in, we don’t want to end up with nothing to play for after Christmas.

“We need to keep ourselves within touching distance of the leaders and have something to play for come February and March.”

Neil Martin and Lewis Morgan are banned for the Magpies, who beat Histon at home in August.
