JAMES Tresadern is hoping wet weather stays away as Weymouth Wildcats look to complete their first meet in five years.

They returned to the track in a tournament on the Isle of Wight earlier this month but rain put pay to the meeting on the island.

However, the weather is set fair for their trip to the Oaktree Arena to face Exeter in the Developmental League tomorrow (9pm).

With a full race schedule ahead, co-promoter Tresarden knows his riders will be up for the fight.

He said: “The riders are up for it, they are excited about the meet.

“It’s all about gaining experience and we’re going to go there hoping to do as well as we can.

“We’re not turning up just to make up the numbers.

“We’d like to win it, especially after the Isle of Wight trip was rained off.

“We want to give a good showing and get the Weymouth name back out there.”

Lawrence Fielding, Matt Bates, Connor Fletcher and Niall Strudwick are the four riders to face Exeter for the Wildcats and Tresadern is looking forward to seeing Bates back out on track.

“He (Bates) is going to be one to watch as he hasn’t raced in some time and it will be interesting to see how he goes," Tresadern added.

“It’s going to be a very close meeting in front of a big crowd.”
