NEW BODY GYM 63

GW ELECTRICAL 17

NEW Body romped to victory in the South & West Dorset League with a resounding triumph over GW Electrical.

New Body started strongly with two centre passes and two consecutive goals, which set the tone for the contest.

GW only started with five players and New Body made the most of their advantage in numbers before GW were eventually back to their full quota.

With a 16-2 advantage at the end of the first quarter, New Body’s accurate play and precise shooting by Kelly Browne and Annie Usher helped extend their impressive lead.

GW’s defenders were working hard to put pressure on New Body’s shooters and goalkeeper Chantelle Lewis then moved to wing defence and her presence on centre court was felt.

But New Body moved into the third quarter continuing their dominance, with Lucy Churchill feeding some great balls into the D.

The gym club continued to increase their lead with their younger players showing maturity in the game beyond their years and they eventually ran out commanding 63-17 winners.

GEORGE BAR & GRILL 42

AUTOBITZ 21

WITH an even start to this clash, Autobitz centre Zara Lau made some key passes into the D and gave her shooters the opportunity to score some goals and gain the lead in the first quarter.

But the George came back on the second quarter with successive goals to take the lead.

Going into the second half, both teams came out fighting.

Autobitz’s Sam Courtice made some excellent interceptions which followed by a goal for her team. The George however, were still dominating play and pulled further ahead.

Moving into the final quarter, play was at a fast pace and the George wrapped up what, in the end, was to be a comfortable 42-21 win.

Division Two

MISSION FITNESS 22

BASEPOINT 28

BASEPOINT started strongly with some key passes into the D to their goal attack Holly Fowler, who made some great shots despite the pressure from the Mission Fitness defence.

Moving into the second quarter, Mission Fitness centre Wendy Doyle controlled the centre court and helped her team dictate the play.

Basepoint’s defenders made it difficult for Mission to turn those key passes into goals and it was the Basepoint shooting duo of Maisie White and Holly Fowler who found the net.

In the last quarter, Mission Fitness shooters Kerry Herd and Lauren Yates scored some crucial goals but it was Basepoint who managed to maintain their lead winning the game 28-22.
