BRIDPORT boss Adam Fricker is hopeful Luke Woodland will be fit for tonight’s game against Ilminster Town at St Mary’s Field (7.45pm) as he gives his strongest side their final proper run-out before the season starts next Saturday.

Woodland has been out through injury since the opening week of pre-season but has recovered well as he looks to cement a starting berth for the first competitive game next weekend.

Speaking about tonight’s opposition, Fricker told Echosport: “They are a couple of leagues below us and it’s our last game so we will put out a strong side.

“We may look to rotate in the second half and give Luke some minutes.

“The side should be a close resemblance to the team that starts the season.”

Fricker added: “It’s all about tinkering and working on set-pieces in the next couple of training sessions to make sure we are ready.”

Ed Butcher will miss tonight’s game and Leigh Bailey is out through work commitments. Ryan Hayter remains on the sidelines with a hip injury, but could be fit for next weekend.
