ADAM Fricker is confident his side is complete after Bridport ended their pre-season campaign with a 3-1 win against Ilminster Town at St Mary’s Field.

Mark Salter scored twice for the Bees with the other coming from an own goal.

After the game, Fricker added midfielder Will Spurway to his squad, who comes in from Taunton Town where he had spent much of pre-season.

Speaking about the new signing, Fricker said: “He does the right things in midfield and is a great talker.

“It’s a big plus for us and it completes our squad.

“The only worry now is Ryan Hayter but he looks to be recovering well.

“All this does is give me some selection dilemmas, but I’d much rather be in this situation than without any players.”

Salter, one of the old guard at Bridport from last term, has been in good form this pre-season, scoring three goals in his last two games.

His manager was thrilled that he decided to stay after a summer of upheaval and feels he can help the young Bridport players this season.

Fricker explained: “He’s not the sort of player that needs an armband. He has great experience and we need him to help the youngsters.

“He has been a great help for Tom Blair, who he is talking to on the pitch all of the time.”
