ASSISTANT player-manager Nick Crittenden believes Dorchester Town are capable of a good result when they travel to Banbury United tomorrow (3pm) after they picked up their first point of the season in midweek.

The Puritans, who the Magpies have drawn in the FA Cup, are newly promoted but have started the season strongly, winning three of their first four games.

Speaking about the clash, Crittenden said: “They’re up there in the league and we have them in the FA Cup so it’s a big game for us.

“We can take a lot of self-belief from the draw against Cirencester and hopefully we can take another step forward tomorrow.”

The pair are set to meet at the Avenue in the FA Cup first qualifying round next month – a tough draw for both sides – and Crittenden feels seeing them before the clash is a double edged sword.

He explained: “It could have been easier, but we know how important the competition is.

“Win, lose or draw tomorrow, we will know their strengths and weaknesses and that will be a benefit.

“But, of course, that will benefit them as well.”

Chris Dillon limped off in the second half in midweek and is doubtful for the Banbury game.

However, Ben Wood could make his return after suffering an injury last weekend.
