DORCHESTER Town player-manager Mark Jermyn feels his side are in good form going into tomorrow’s away encounter with Hayes & Yeading United (3pm), despite a 3-1 loss to Chippenham Town in midweek.

The sides are meeting on the Sunday instead of the usual Saturday as the hosts’ own ground did not pass health and safety regulations earlier in the month. The clash is being played at Beaconsfield SYCOB’s Holloways Park and the boss admits it will be a strange feeling for the Magpies.

He told Echosport: “It’s a bit different. I don’t think I’ve ever played a game on a Sunday since I was a kid. It shouldn’t change anything. It’s just a reverse weekend. Players will have today to spend time with their families, so it’s important that the players don’t switch off knowing that we have a game the following day.”

The Magpies are set to welcome Dory Yates back into the fold after he picked up a head injury last weekend, meaning there will be added competition in the middle of the park.

For Jermyn, he feels his tactics won’t need to change too much ahead of the clash.

He added: “We’ve been quite consistent recently so I don’t think we will make many changes. We are the away side and they will have their home fans so being at a different ground shouldn’t change the game.”
