DORCHESTER Sports have the unenviable task of tackling the Dorset Premier League leaders away from home tomorrow (3pm).

Ashley James’ men travel to the County Ground to face Hamworthy United Reserves, beginning a trilogy of matches on their preferred 3G surface.

Sports will later play Blandford United at home on Tuesday before visiting Cockrams to face Shaftesbury Town Reserves one week tomorrow.

Looking ahead to the Hammer clash, James told Echosport: “Obviously they’re top of the league and a good side but we’ve been playing well in periods.

“If we can make it consistent over the whole game then we’ll go there and give a good account of ourselves.

“There’s no reason why we can’t be looking to get three points but it’s a tough away game.”

He added: “We’re definitely better when we play on the 3G surfaces, it will be nice to get the ball down and play.

“It’s going to be another hot day so the whole squad will be needed, but we’re in confident mood. Hopefully we can go there and put in a good account of ourselves.

“It’s a game we need to impress in because in the two games where we felt we should’ve done better, we’ve come away with nothing.

“It’s a massive incentive for us in the next four days to pick up two wins. If we can do that, it will start the season quite nicely.”

Josh Pratt, Rich Sands and Darren Watts are unavailable but centre-back Caleb Tennant returns.
