DORCHESTER Sports’ manager Ashley James has promised to field a full-strength side at lower league Tisbury United tomorrow (2.30pm).

Going into the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance Senior Trophy clash, Dorchester Sports currently reside 16 places in the county pyramid above the Sharks, who operate in the Dorset Senior League.

But despite the difference in standard, James is taking no risks and wants to avoid tripping up at the first hurdle.

Sports have already exited the Dorset Premier League Cup and their manager appears intent on progressing in the Trophy.

He told Echosport: “We’ll be going with a full-strength side, it looks like we’ve got the strongest possible squad we’ve had available to us this season.

“There are some really tough decisions to make. We’re 100 per cent looking to get into the next round and go deep in this competition.

“There’s got to be a focus now. We’ve not started the league as well as we wanted and other teams are going to be playing catch-up. So, to go deep in this cup will be nice.”

Sports have had feedback on Tisbury from their reserve team, who compete against them in the division below.

“We’ve spoken to them, they’ve already played them and unfortunately they lost 3-2 in the last minute up there,” James added.

“They said it’s a tough place to go. We know a little bit about them and we worked on certain things in training to hopefully try and get a positive result.”

Sports are waiting on the fitness of goalkeeper Nick Hutchings, who sustained a heavy landing in a hefty collision with Derek Wall against Balti Sports last week.

Greg Taylor is likely to deputise if Hutchings is unavailable.
