AFTER a rest weekend, Dorchester return to league action in tomorrow’s Counties One Tribute Southern South match against Combe Down at Surcouf Park (2.30pm).

With their opponents only one place above them in the table, the game will be tight and competitive, given the reverse fixture was won 27-23 in the last minutes by the Bath-based side.

A win for Dorchester will move them closer to their visitors but not above them.

On the day, the club is holding its second vice-presidents lunch of the season, so the home side will have strong and very vocal support from those attending as a large crowd is expected.

Martin Oxland will look to name his strongest matchday team, whilst having great depth in the A squad who also play at home tomorrow against Sherborne Seconds in their Counties Three Tribute Dorset & Wilts South fixture (2.30pm).

Steve Tucker will lead out a familiar first team with regular front row, Joe Underhill, Scott Clarke and Tom Louch ready to take the challenge to their opposite numbers.

Jack Hayward and Cohen Emery will provide the half-back link for the ball to be moved out to the team’s backs looking to breach the Combe Down defence.

Jamie Morgan returns to action after his shoulder injury, reuniting with Jack Adams in their successful centre partnership. Flying colt Flynn Drummond will again see action in the senior squad, looking to add to his try tally.

Dorchester A, meanwhile, will feature some of the club’s colts continuing their rise into senior rugby, along with some experienced heads, to help in their development and guide the way.

Director of rugby, Oxland, has said that both sides will be looking to bounce back from recent disappointment, the games will be about playing with belief and confidence, and stressing the opponents in the right areas of the pitch. Both sides will be aiming to deliver the best aspects of their games and produce a positive outcome.

Elsewhere in Dorchester’s division, Weymouth & Portland return to action after a long lay-off when they host Frome at Monmouth Avenue.

In the division below, Bridport are looking to extend their run of three consecutive wins when they welcome Lytchett Minster to the Brewery Ground tomorrow.
