DORCHESTER Town will not change their approach as the Magpies travel to Beaconsfield Town tomorrow (3pm), manager Tom Killick insists.

With just one loss in 10 matches, the Avenue Stadium outfit is gathering pace at the business end of the season, moving up to 15th in the Southern League Premier South.

Dorchester also know a victory by three goals or more would leapfrog them above the Rams on goal difference.

But Killick is looking to strike a balance between maintaining tactical superiority over the Rams, following their 2-1 win over them on Saturday, and not tinkering too much.

He told Echosport: “We don’t want to let our standards drop in terms of our work rate and togetherness.

“We want to make sure that’s maintained and we don’t lose focus on what’s led to the slight upturn in our results.

“We feel that we’re a team that’s got a lot of energy and ability in terms of our attacking play.

“We’re trying to emphasise those qualities by the way we’re set up. We feel we’re getting success by being positive in our approach.

“Just because this is away from home, we don’t feel we need to steer away from that.”

On Dorchester’s form, Killick added: “It shows that we’ve now got much more quality in the squad.

“We’re getting more stability in terms of the make-up of the squad, therefore the connection’s better between the players.

“It’s been good, it’s just not enough. We need to make sure we maintain it because there’s so many teams that are still in peril.

“As much as we’re quite pleased about those last 10 games, it doesn’t mean anything because it hasn’t got us where we want to be. We’ve got to keep going and make sure we don’t become complacent.

“Then, things can unravel very quickly. We’ve done the easy bit in certain aspects in terms of (raising) our levels over a shortish period. That’s got to be maintained and sometimes that’s more difficult.

“So, we’ve got to understand what’s still in front of us.”

Killick is also not averse to adding fresh blood but is also wary of upsetting the Magpies’ ecosystem.

He said: “It’s a bit of a balance. On one hand I feel the squad is looking strong in quality and we’ve got a connection among the players.

“You don’t want to destabilise things. By the same token, the postponement of a couple of games does mean there’s a congested period.”

Shaq Gwengwe (ankle) and Luke Pardoe (illness) are expected to return.

Elsewhere, Dorchester have rescheduled two postponed matches. The Magpies will visit Tiverton on Tuesday (7.45pm) and travel to Sholing on Tuesday, April 9 (7.45pm).
