TERRAS forward Brandon Goodship said the team will use the feeling of defeat after their 1-0 loss to Braintree Town to spur the team on in their reverse fixture on Tuesday night.

Weymouth came close to taking the lead a few times in the first half with Goodship firing twice from range, but they could not break the deadlock.

Goodship said he thought the team were "executing the game plan well" until Baris Altintop put the visitors ahead in the 76th minute.

He said: “We knew it was going to be a tough game coming into it after they were 12 games unbeaten, so we know what we had to do.”

The goal came late on, after the Terras absorbed pressure from Braintree with a number of clearances. Goodship described the winner as a "sucker punch" coming late on.

He said: “It was a bit of a sucker punch after they scored late on and it was from a set-piece.”

Despite the result, Goodship was impressed with the performance, and was aware of the instant turnaround, which will see the Terras travel to Essex to play Braintree in the rearranged, reverse fixture.

Goodship said: “I thought the lads dug in well (on Saturday) and we’re going to have to move onto Tuesday.

“Obviously we’re playing them again and we are going to use that feeling tonight that we feel and hopefully get three points on Tuesday."

The Terras will kick off in 15th place on Tuesday night at 7.45pm, whilst Braintree have risen to third- looking to go 14 games unbeaten.
