MALACHI Linton’s loan spell at Weymouth has been cut short, with injury ending his season early.

Linton joined Bobby Wilkinson’s Terras on loan from Yeovil Town in January and made an instant impact, scoring five goals and providing one assist in his 11 appearances.

But he is now set for a spell on the sidelines, Weymouth expecting him to be out of action for around three months.

A statement from Terras read: “Unfortunately, we have had confirmation that Malachi Linton’s injury will see him out the remainder of his loan with us and season.

“Bobby spoke directly with the physio and the news was confirmed that Malachi will be sidelined for up to 12 weeks.

“This of course sees him past his loan end date with us.

“We would like to thank Malachi for his efforts at the club.”

Linton, who spent part of this season on loan at Taunton Town, himself added: “My time has been short and sweet. I was happy to wear the shirt and gave my all every time I put it on.

“I’m thankful to the manager for giving me the opportunity, thankful to the players and staff for being welcoming and helping me settle in quickly and the fans for their support home and away.

“I have faith that Bobby and the boys will finish on a high and I wish the club nothing by the best for the future.”

Terras meanwhile have confirmed Corey Panter has extended his loan spell from Eastleigh, keeping him at Bob Lucas Stadium for another month.
