DORCHESTER manager Tom Killick is hopeful of a “favourable outcome” following appeals over two recent red cards against the Magpies.

Dorchester are contesting the dismissals of Will Spetch and Jack Dickson during the 1-1 draw at Winchester and the 2-1 victory over Tiverton respectively.

The Magpies have also this week appealed to their fanbase for videos of Dickson’s incident against Tivvy.

Dickson will be available to play this afternoon at Hayes & Yeading (3pm) given the seven days’ grace rule.

Proof is the key obstacle in Killick’s eyes as the Magpies must present a convincing and emphatic case to officials in order to overturn the decisions.

Appealing red cards is a risky business as players can often have a match added to their suspension if an appeal is deemed frivolous.

Killick told Echosport: “It’s difficult at this level. At the highest level you’ve got VAR, so you don’t really have the appeals as such.

“In the Football League and full-time football there’s often video evidence that is available of a more enhanced quality.

“Appeals at our level, even though there’s an understanding that the decisions are wrong, getting yourself in a position where you’ve got the evidence to prove that is not always easy.

“We believe that the evidence we’ve submitted is strong in terms of video evidence and we hope we get a favourable outcome.”
