NEW Weymouth manager Mark Molesley felt the Terras lacked that “last bit of quality” in front of goal on their way to a 1-0 loss at Eastbourne Borough on Saturday.
Matt Green’s goal, an instinctive finish from ex-Weymouth defender David Sesay’s mis-hit shot, separated the sides at full-time.
However, Weymouth had plenty of good openings including a big chance for Brandon Goodship seconds before the goal.
The Terras ended without a shot on target but Molesley’s men were dominant in the second period without troubling keeper Harrison Foulkes.

When put to him Weymouth did not work Foulkes enough, Molesley told Echosport: “Yeah, I think that’s a fair reflection.
“Lots of hard work, lots of endeavour, we probably lacked that last bit of quality in the final third.
“Runs in the box could’ve been a little bit better. We’ve had one training session and I think the group have responded really well.
“They’re obviously trying a couple of new things. We can’t change everything, it needs to be a real staged approach.
“The players went out and approached the game like that. If they decide that, I’m with them. This is a good group and they certainly went out and attacked the game.
“The lads were out on their feet, they pressed, they harried, it became a little bit more like basketball than I would’ve liked. There’s a couple of tactical tweaks which we can fix.
“We can’t give information overload. I’m not disappointed, I’m only enthused. I really like the group.
“I’ve come into a really professional setup from the kitman to the physio to the media. Everyone’s been so welcoming. We’ll just continue the hard work.
“These players have had a robust, tough season. We’ve got to be careful how we implement our ideas. We’ve got to be mindful that the group’s set up to play a certain way.
“They can definitely open themselves up and be braver, I think, and progress the ball a bit more. It just probably lacked that little bit.”
Weymouth visit Maidstone United tomorrow (7.45pm).
