FORMER Bridport and Dorchester player Paul Tweddle tasted T20 Blast glory with Somerset after their 14-run win over Essex on Finals Day.

Tweddle, Somerset fielding coach, was seen on TV pictures celebrating with Somerset's squad, fittingly after a majestic diving catch from Tom Kohler-Cadmore to win the trophy.

Matt Henry starred with 4-24 as Somerset claimed a first Vitality Blast title in 18 years at Edgbaston.

Essex's Adam Rossington (19) and Dan Lawrence (16) flew out of the traps in pursuit of 146 in the final, but Henry dismissed both and produced the ball of the day with a bail-trimmer to see off Michael Pepper (1).

Daniel Sams threatened to pull off a dramatic finish with 45 off 26 balls but Henry, who was held back until the penultimate over, had the last laugh as Essex were all out for 131.

Tweddle is primed to reprise his interim head coach role at Somerset for the upcoming One-Day Cup.
