PUDDLETOWN 115-6 (18pts) beat HAMWORTHY RECREATION 111 (4pts) by four wickets

PUDDLETOWN put further distance between themselves and bottom side Hamworthy Rec with a four-wicket win at Plush.

Ryan Norman’s side are now up to sixth, 36 points clear of Hamworthy with four games to go.

They earned their fifth victory of the season after what was a low-scoring thriller, with 16 wickets falling for just 226 runs.

Norman won the toss, chose to field and Puddle had Rec at 37-4 as two run outs and a brace for Adam Weir (3-20) did early damage.

Grant Cormack smashed 27 from 31 balls and Jacob Berry 21 before Rob Snow (3-23) helped wrap up the innings for 111.

Puddletown appeared to be making heavy weather of the chase at 66-5, despite Kieran Knight’s patient 34.

But Snow (24no) and Norman (11no) successfully negotiated the remainder of the innings to ease home with 9.3 overs in hand.

Elsewhere, Puddletown Seconds lost by three wickets to Stalbridge Development in County Division Five.
