ABBOTSBURY 43-0 (20pts) beat CATTISTOCK & SYMENE II 42 (1pt) by ten wickets

ABBOTSBURY crushed Cattistock & Symene Seconds by ten wickets to keep their County Division Three survival mission on course.

Going into their final match of the season at home to Broadstone Seconds today (1pm), the Swans carry a two-point advantage over Kingston Lacy, who reside in the drop zone.

Abbotsbury remain in the last safe position of eighth after their one-sided win over the struggling Foxes, who were relegated following the defeat.

Abbotsbury skipper Dave Worsdell won the toss, chose to field and the Swans instantly had their opponents in strife.

Seam bowler Chas Duerdoth ripped through their order with 7-6, the best figures in Dorset on week 17.

Spinners Pankaj Nikale (2-19) and Simon Pengelly (1-10) also chipped in, with Ed Maltby (15) and Reuben Kingston (11) the only batters to score more than four runs.

In reply, Abbotsbury breezed to their target in 8.4 overs as Worsdell (25no) and Pengelly (12no) finished unbeaten.
